Summer Season and Skin Problems

             There are Five common summer skin problems which are commonly seen in majority of peoples in the summer season every year. Now due to global warming this issue takes more attention.

  • Acne breakouts
  • Body Odour
  • Dry and Irritating Skin
  • Heat rash / Prickly Heat
  • Sunburn

Acne :                                       

       Acne is the most common skin condition in the India, affecting majority  of  school / college going age group of  indian population  which usually begins in puberty and  affects many Adolescents and Youngsters. In summer season due external rise in temperature and internal body temperature rise Acne breakout seems in many areas.

Body Odour :

             When sweat meets the bacteria on the surface of the skin which leads to an unpleasant smell i.e called body odour. While sweating is the body's natural way of regulating temperature during summers and is virtually odourless. Bacteria present on the skin use it as a breeding surface. Body odour is most common in "Summer Season". 

Dry and Irritating Skin :

                        If you have a normal skin, it can go dry in summer. Here are some main reasons that is excessive heat and direct exposure sunlight  without enough protection can damage your skin barrier function, causing transepidermal loss of water which leads to dry skin in the summer seasons.

Heat rash / Prickly Heat :

              Sometimes it is also called as prickly heat, Sweat rash or miliaria, which is a harmless but very itchy skin rash. It causes small red spots where sweat collects, such as the armpits, back, under the breasts, chest, groin, elbow creases and back of the knees, and the waist. It has low to moderate itching small size pimples over the skin with or without redness. In the 'Summer Season and Skin Problems' it most common.

Sunburn :

         In summer season the sunrays are at a steep angle, making them stronger and more focused. People who having sensitive skin, blue eyes, or blind or red hair don't produce very much melanin. They have a higher risk for sunburn because their skin doesn't protect itself in the raised surrounding temperature. 

       Main cause of sunburn in summer season is the strongest ultraviolet rays. However, UVB rays can burn and damage your skin for few or many years around also, especially at high altitudes and on reflective surfaces such as snow or ice.
